Mocktails: Fun and Flavorful

Updated: Apr 1, 2022

Our team was asked by a local TV station to conjure up some mocktails to share with their viewers. There is nothing more fun for us than to create exciting new combinations with our South Texas inspired craft sodas! What makes our sodas so special is that we already use real juice from concentrate in our Limoncito and TexaCola. They are so delicious. Oh...and we can't forget our new Root Bexar! It has real mesquite bean blended with traditional root beer flavors such as winter green and sassafras. Of course, pure cane sugar, local honey and lots of bubbles makes mixing or drinking super refreshing and easy.

A classic summer cocktail is a Hurricane. But because we don't want to use alcohol and want a drink that the whole family can make and enjoy, we've created a "Summer Storm" Your favorite tropical juices blended with our Limoncito (Lemon, Lime, Honey, Cane Sugar & Bubbles) is amazingly tropical.

SUMMER STORM 1 1/2 Cups Passionfruit Juice

3/4 cup orange Juice

¾ cup pineapple juice

½ cup grenadine

¼ cup cream of coconut

1 Limoncito (Lemon and lime juice, local honey, pure cane sugar and bubbles)

Garnish

Cherries

Pineapple slice for rim

Instructions

Place ice in a pitcher, and pour ingredients together. Stir and serve into a hurricane glass. To make a slushie, put about 1 cup of ice to 2 cups of mixture.

Being we're from San Antonio, where Spanish influence is in our food and drinks, you can't turn a corner without finding a fruity sangria. Of course, being in the spirit of mocktails, we found a fun and exciting way to create a delicious SUNgria that has everything you want to cool off under a hot summer sun. Using Red and White Grape Juice with our TexaCola (Orange, Lemon, Lime, Local Honey, Pure Cane Sugar and Honey) it sure has a lot of fun flavor!

SUNgria ½ cup of white grape juice

1 TexaCola (Orange, lemon, Lime juice, local honey, pure cane sugar bubbles)

Place slices in a pitcher

1 orange (sliced, 1/4-inch thick)

1 lemon (sliced, 1/4-inch thick)

1 lime (sliced, 1/8-inch thick)

2 apples (cored and chopped)

Garnish

Orange Slice in Rim.

Instructions

Add Ice to a pitcher, place fruit inside. Pour grape juice and TexaCola into pitcher. Stir and serve over ice.

Finally, we all love Root Bexar floats, who doesn't? Our version elevates your float experience and lets the kids have fun pretending they are at a posh party by using fancy martini glasses. Using our Root Bexar (Root Beer Soda with mesquite bean, local honey and pure cane sugar), sweetened condensed milk and chocolate drizzle, stirred not shaken, its delicious and fun!

Floatini

(Serves 2)

1 Root Bexar

⅓ cup of sweetened condensed milk

Chocolate syrup for drizzle.

Instructions

Pour Root Bexar Mesquite Bean Root Beer in pitcher and stir in sweetened condensed milk. Stir until the mixture looks creamy. In a cocktail shaker, place ice and pour mixture in to allow it to chill. In a martini glass, drizzle chocolate syrup on the bottom and pour cool mixture on top. Drizzle more chocolate for more fun

These three mocktails should be fun to make with the whole family. To make more just double, triple the ingredients and enjoy. Don't forget the Southside!
