The Buzz on the Holiday Lights at the River Walk!

George Strait said it best, "There may not be snow in San Antonio but it's a Texas Christmas to me!" We might not have snow but we do have a River Walk that goes all out for the holiday season! The famous lights on the river walk get turned on every year the day after Thanksgiving and stay up until the new year. (This season the lights are staying up until January 13, 2020) Over 2,000 string of lights hangs from the trees that line the River Walk illuminating the night sky and spreading Christmas cheer. These lights can be enjoyed while on a nice evening stroll, eating dinner on the patio of your favorite River Walk restaurant, or, our personal favorite, while on a river cruise.

Along side the regular river cruises that run year round, three different special cruises are offered during the Holiday season. There is the Downtown Lights Cruise where you can enjoy hot chocolate and desserts, the Pearl Lights Cruise which takes you to the Pearl, Downtown reach, and back while enjoying hot chocolate, and the Narrated Cruise where a tour guide will walk you through the rich history of downtown San Antonio.
